Our History









The Stratton Volunteer Fire Department is made up of 25 members from the Stratton community. All of the members volunteer their time to respond to emergencies and train for the various incidents that we may be called upon to execute. For more information on current volunteers, please click here.

The Stratton Fire District board is made up of 5 members currently living in the Stratton Fire District. Each member is elected to serve on the board for a designated number of years by a majority vote of all the community members living in the fire district. The Eastern Colorado Technical Rescue Team is volunteer and comprised of firemen representing fire departments in Kit Carson County. The SVFD has 3 of its members on this team. The team members complete extra training consisting of grain bin, confined space, and rope rescues. For more information about the technical rescue team please click here.
